Crusing Away

The morning after Thanksgiving, it was straight to the Port of Galveston for our crew. We got there earlier than planned, but actually did not wait around as long as I thought we would. We were just so excited to get on the Wonder for a 7 day Disney cruise. Interestingly, we were driven to the port by an older gentleman with a long white beard, who claimed to have moved to Texas from the North Pole. Evie certainly had some theories about him!
Everyone was starving when we boarded, so we headed straight to Cabanas for lunch. We didn't bother putting the girls in bathing suits under their clothes, because last time we sailed out of Galveston, it was too cold to swim. They didn't seem to mind eating instead of swimming anyway.
But it was sunny enough that they could have probably gone swimming.
The Wonder was in dry-dock and updated since we sailed in 2015, so we had some exploring to do. The girls were excited to see the changes to the Oceaneer's Lab and Club.

They liked everything they saw, but I personally thought it was more fun before.

Kiersten got upset again at the sail away party. I am not quite sure what upsets her so much. She does fine at other events/gatherings, but is always pouting or crying and wanting to leave the sail away party. I guess it's just too much excitement for one morning.
The girls like to watch the dolphins jump in the ship's wake as we sail away. We've seen dolphins every single time we've gone out of this port.
Kiersten cheered up as soon as the sail away party was over. I seriously will just skip it with her next time so the other girls can enjoy themselves without any drama.
We got to eat in the new restaurant on our first night. It is based on Princess and the Frog, and is called Tiana's place, obviously New Orleans themed. We really enjoyed it!
Tiana was very sweet and happy to learn that we had an Evangeline in our family.
Louis the gator performed, but ran around like such a spazz, that it was hard to get a good photo. I enjoyed the band that played in the restaurant all 3 nights we ate there.
There was a show and tree lighting ceremony on the first night as well. I was wiped out, and can barely remember even attending this show.
I'm sure it was greatly exciting.
We brought along magnets we've used on past cruises for the girls to decorate the door. I probably should have made new, Christmas mickey heads, but I didn't.
I was glad to be in 2 rooms again. It is pretty hard to be all in 1 room together for a whole week.
