rodeo and drive-in

Evie had her first sandwich this weekend. Doesn't she look so happy to be eating it? We finally had a nice warm weekend with no rain. So we decided we needed to do something fun with the girls outside saturday. Ben decided to take us all to the rodeo. It was a first for all of us girls. We had tons of fun, and it was pretty inexpensive for a family of 5.This rodeo is less than 15 minutes from our house, but we've lived here more than 4 years and never gone to it. Ben was surprised I had never been to a rodeo, and I think finding that out made him even more excited to go.

Evie entertained everyone sitting around us between the rodeo events. At one point I stood to stretch my legs, and everyone thought we were leaving. 4 or 5 people started to protest and tell me we had to stay, she was being too adorable.

they got the most excited about the bull riding and the bucking horses.

Kara wasn't too fond of the roping events. She felt bad for the cows getting tied up.

Kiersten had to get this lovely hat. All the girls have been taking turn wearing it ever since we got home.

Later that evening we decided to go to the drive-in in Auburn. We saw Kung Fu Panda 2 and Thor. It's the first time in years that I have stayed awake through both drive-in movies. The girls were so excited. I think it was a pretty fun day for them. They did make a huge candy and popcorn mess in the back of the car, but what else can you expect of a 5 and 3 year old?

Evie only stayed awake halfway through the first movie. She didn't care too much about being there, she just wanted to be held the whole time since she has a few teeth coming in. Look at that sad little pout. It was crazy to think that after we move in July, this drive-in will be just minutes from our house instead of the 40 that it currently takes to get there.
