After the makeovers, we had a quick tea party, and then watched Alice in Wonderland, since it's about a girl. Evie and I fell asleep pretty much right away, (we were on Kiersten's bed) so Kara invited Kiersten to have a sleep over in her room that night.

Girl party
For a couple days Kara has been wanting to have a "girl party". I didn't know exactly what she wanted to do, as she insisted that she wanted to plan it. We have just been so busy doing other things, that we didn't have time til sunday night. The first thing she planned was a makeover for all of us. I let them each wear eyeshadow, nail polish, and lip stick. Then Kara did my makeup and Kiersten did Grandma's.
Here's a group picture after the makeovers. Kara did an okay job on mine. Kiersten's hand turns out to be a bit shakier.
Kiersten had to get the same color lipstick as kara once she saw how much darker it was than what she had on. She picked a pale pink eyeshadow, the same as what she used on Grandma.
this picture turned out a little creepy, as Kara thought she looked really glamourous, and tried to make a face to match. but the way she opened her eyes made it hard to even see her cool purple eyeshadow.
Evie definitely wanted to participate, but I couldn't bring myself to use anything other than the lightest pinks on her sweet little face. and her lipstick lasted about 10 seconds before she rubbed it all off onto her binky. She is still pretty proud of her nails, though.

The girls celebrated Dr. Suess day at school, and were very excited to come home and tell Evie all about it.

Kara had an idea to make a count down calendar to count the days til we all see daddy and move to St. Louis. So I let them color strips of plain white paper to make a paper chain advent calendar.

Kiersten's strips all had so much detail. She only did about half as many as Kara did.

Here they are with the finished paper chain. I was going to print out a picture of Ben's face for the top, but got feeling lazy, and just wrote the words, "moving day". sorry Ben. Luckily Evie was aslep while they did this, so it went well.

When Evie woke from her nap, she was pretty excited about the calendar.

Since my mom is here, we decided to go to church today. The girls all got to pick out their lovely dresses. Evie is big enough for nursery now. i don't know how it went because I just introduced her to the teacher, and then plopped her in a chair andhustled out of the room. I figured it'd go like when she goes to the dayccare at the gym. She cries til she can't see me anymore, or gets distracted by a toy or another kid. She sure was happy to see me when I came in to pick her up.

Kiersten thought daddy would like to see a silly picture. so here it is.

day at the park
I told Ben I would do a blog update today with pictures of the girls. I'm getting to it a little late, but hopefully he'll be able to see it tonight or tomorow. The girls have wanted to play games all week. This morning I let them play sesame street chutes and ladders.
Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh got to play with them the second time, so I could get some housework done.
We went to Gonyea park today. I got happy meals for the girls. they were pretty excited about that. Those crowns were the toys that came with their meals. Kiersten was a lot more excited about it than Kara. Kara just kinda acted like, "big deal, one more crown..."
the first thing Kiersten said when she woke up this morning was, "I want my Daddy". I think they will be pretty excited to see him tomorrow night. Hopefully he is prepared to recieve lots of attention from both of them tomorrow night, and possibly all weekend.

sisters
First of all, can you guess who went pee pee in the potty 4 times yesterday?...
This girl!
I got cuter pics of her on the potty, but they weren't quite appropriate for the internet. I'll have to save those for her baby book.
She was so excited and proud to be wearing a pullup all day. She didn't wet it once during the 10 hours she wore it. I wanted a picture of her in the pullup, but Kara has a hard time letting me take pictures of just Kiersten.
Just a few pictures of the girls hanging out lately. They are usually best friends, but when they decide to fight with each other, they can really go at it. Kiersten gets especially vicious.

One day last week, Kara asked if she could take a picture of me. I decided I would like Kiersten to be in the picture with me. I had Kara stand on a table after the first one turned out less than flattering, especially in the double chin area. I think she did a pretty good job. Would you guess this was taken by a 4 year old?
We are on day 3 of Ben being gone, and doing fairly well. The first day was fine. I don't think they really noticed a difference until he didn't come home at dinner time. Yesterday was a little hard for Kara. She was in time out 3 times. Usually, she is in time out once or twice a month, if that. So hopefully when she comes home from school today she will be a happier girl. Her class is celebrating cinco de mayo with a piƱata and a mexican hat dance party. So she should be full of candy and treats. Also, I bought a couple of projects for the girls at JoAnn's, so we will have fun things to do to help the time pass quickly.
