Fourth of July

We were in Idaho or the fourth of July. It's been a few years since we've been out there for it, so it was fun to be there with the kids. Kerry and Lana took us to the parade in Menan. Ben had me convinced that it was going to be a tiny little parade with a hundred people or so. It turned out to be a pretty large event with food trucks, craft booths, games, and entertainment. It was brutally hot, but still tons of fun.
Jason and Lisa met us there to watch the parade. We got a pretty great spot.
Evie was super excited to see the horses marching past.

Of course their favorite part was when candy was thrown at them. We actually still have a good amount of it left.
I got the kids some fun patriotic sunglasses for cheap at Target. They were excited to wear those to match their red, white, and blue outfits.
In the evening we headed over to the river to watch fireworks. Vicky got us a great spot to watch from.

Nancy made the cutest little fruit pizzas decorated like flags. At first, I determined I'd better not have any, but I gave in to temptation, and couldn't eat just one!

The fireworks were spectacular as always. I have never seen anything like the Idaho Falls finale anywhere else. It's pretty crazy for the last couple minutes.
The next day we went to Rigby lake with Nancy and her kids. It is a lot different than I remember. They have made tons of improvements since we were there in 2010.
The kids had a great day playing in the sand, and I think we successfully kept all sunburns at bay.
Most of the kids helped Ben build a sandcastle. They were super proud of it.

It was a gorgeous day
