Bahamas!

The Bahamas were beautiful. I can't even say how wonderful it was to wake up and turn over to see paradise waiting outside our window. Especially after being sick, it was so nice.

Ben and I were excited to explore Nassau, and wanted to spend some time there. The girls were kind of anxious to get back to the ship, and their precious oceaneers club.
We all tried some delicious Goombay punch, and it was delicious.
In the straw market, Kara got this fan with her name embroidered. She is pretty proud of it, and treats is very carefully.
Kiersten got a cute little purse, which she chose to bring to school as her special show and tell when we got home.
Ben and Kara went on a snorkeling trip, and got to see all of the resorts and celebrity mansions. They were absolutely gorgeous, of course.

Kara ready to snorkel. Turns out it's not the greatest idea to take a 7 year old snorkeling, who has only ever been waist deep in the ocean. She was pretty terrified. Ben had to try so hard to get her to go under the water. She wouldn't stay in very long, and went back to sit in the boat.
Ben had a great time snorkeling, though.
She did enjoy the boat ride, though.
On saturday morning, the girls and I slept in, so Ben took Evie off the ship to explore Castaway Cay. She was thrilled to meet Captain Hook and Smi. She is still talking about them more than any other characters she met.
Waiting for the shuttle to the beach we wanted to visit.

Evie would get really excited to see Mickey on the front of the ship whenever we disembarked.
This was my favorite day of our entire vacation.
We brought along some sand toys for the girls, which they were devastated to leave behind, but we had to make room for all the souvenirs they got. Kara ended up wanting to be dropped off at the kids area on the beach. It was like the oceaneers club, but on the beach instead of the ship. So she spent a good amount of time there.
We rented snorkel gear, and Kiersten got to try. She liked it a little.

Ben stayed out snorkeling for a while, and I took out 2 float tubes with the girls, and just enjoyed the warm ocean, and relaxed. It was beyond wonderful.
Kiersten had so much fun playing in the sand.
Evie took a nap, which made it easy for us to relax, with her asleep, and Kara in the kids club, we just had to keep an eye on Kiersten, who is great about staying right near us.
My turn to snorkel. I really enjoyed it. The water was so warm and clean, and the fish were easy to see.
I would love to go to the Bahamas again, either on a longer cruise, or just to stay at a resort. We just needed that beach day so much after being in Disneyworld for 5 days, and being sick. For me it made the trip.

It sound like you had a great time at the Bahamas. You are lucky, We went in 1988 and it was a short visit, with the rain pouring the whole time. It looks like I missed out on a lot of fun stuff. I am so glad you enjoyed snorkeling! And it looks like you bought an underwater camera, isn't it fun!

That mansion in the picture used to be Tiger Woods' now it is his ex-wife's. Seeing the pictures sure makes me want to go back.
