Disney on Ice- Princesses!

We are used to going to Disney on ice in november every year, but here in St. Louis, it comes in march. So since that was part of Kiersten's birthday gift, she got a pretty cinderella dress to wear to the show. Ben got all the girls sno-cones in special cups. Evie's was a mickey cup. she made a huge mess with it.

Kiersten felt so pretty in her dress. She was a little sad that she couldn't get her hair curled, since our stuff has not arrived here yet, and I didn't have a curling iron. She got a rapunzel cup.

Silly Kara. We didn't bring very many dresses with us on the airplane, so she ended up wearing a skirt. she didn't mind not being too dressed up. she got a cinderella cup.

Evie got so happy and excited every time Mickey and minnie were on the ice. But when they would leave, she would really freak out.

the first story was princess and the frog. Evie was a little tense during the part with shadow man.

The middle story was Cinderella. Kiersten really loved this one. During the intermission, she did get a little sad, because she realized she doesn't have a prince to marry.

They really made the evil step sisters even worse than in the movie.

Kiersten waiting for her prince charming.

waiting to see if the slipper is gonna fit...

the last story was Rapunzel. They did lots of cool swinging around on these scarves (hair). unfortuately, Kiersten had to go out to the restroom during this part, and she and Ben missed most of it.

For Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding, (and the grand finale), all the other famous disney princesses and their princes came out. The crowd was really going crazy for each one, but Belle and Jasmine seemed to be the most popular.

This was a really fun show. The girls loved seeing all the princesses on the ice and in the crowd too. Kiersten was practicing her twirling before we left, in case they mistook her for the real Cinderella and made her skate in the show. Fortunately that didn't happen, and she just got to watch and enjoy the performance.

4/12/11

Kara recieved a princess cupcake kit from her aunt Nancy for her birthday. Since then we've been busy, or out of town, or just had too many other treats around. But last week, I decided it was time to let her make them. The girls decided to have a princess party, and make the cupcakes at the end. So we all dressed up in dresses and jewelry. (notice the gorgeous necklace Kara made for me :)) They had me in a skirt, but I took that off for baking. It was pretty fun.
making the cupcakes.
They are always impatient when we have something baking. I had to put the cupcakes in the freezer to cool them faster, because they were so ready to get to the decorating. I know if they'd had more time to cool, they would have looked better. But oh well, they were gone after 2 days anyway.
they each had a little pastiage circle with a picture to paint. The edible water color was included with paint brushes. Kara got a little frustrated that she couldn't stay inside the lines with the brush. Kiersten was just worried about finishing her cupcakes first, and she had no reason to worry. She was done with all of hers before Kara was satisfied with her first one.
They loved the little pink crown wrappers around the cupcakes. Kara was reluctant to throw them away when she ate them. I was letting her save one for her scrapbook, but she left it down and Evie got ahold of it, so that was the end of it.
a closer view. can you see a difference between Kara's and Kiersten's?
The proud artiste. She loves watching cake decorating shows on tv and often tells us she wants to be a cake decorater.
Kiersten was pretty proud of her cupcakes, but mistakenly thought that she had free license to eat all of the ones she painted.
Princess Evie just got to sit in the high chair, snacking on a wagon wheel.
On sunday, I took the girls outside to ride their bikes. Kara fell down, and Kiersten decided it was too dangerous outside. So she brought her bike in the house. Evie was thrilled to see her riding it around.

my little beauty. It's fun to see her personality develpoing so much lately. She sure is a handful though.
Kiersten did end up coming back out to ride with kara. They have so much fun riding around together, but they hate that I wont let them ride in the street, or even go around the block unless I'm following behind them. I guess I'm just the worrying kind of mom.
that's all for now, as I have TONS to do before flying out to Utah with the girls soon. Hopefully Daddy can find something fun to do while we're gone. These 3 little girls are usually the focus around here.

baby shower and princess party

First, a few pictures from my baby shower on Thursday. I know I am getting way huge, and swollen. The heat is definitely not helping with the swelling, but it helps to know I'll have my baby here very soon!
It was a fun shower, and everyone was so generous. My mom made this quilt for the baby.
Just another dress up picture of Kiersten, so she isn't left out.
Kara has really been looking forward to going to her friend Chai's princess birthday party. It was yesterday, and I was glad I was able to take her. (even though the place wasn't air conditioned) they made sparkly crowns, and then they all got to dress up like princesses.
Princess Tiana was a surprise guest. She sang a few songs for the girls, and they absolutely loved it. Kara wanted to be right next to her for the entire party.
a group picture of the girls with Princess Tiana. She gave them lots of tips on how to be a good princess.
The birthday girl dancing with her daddy.
the girls put on a fashion show for us moms. They interviewed the girls, and every single one said their favorite princess was Tiana. But I'm pretty sure Kara just said that because she was the princess there. Normally, she says cinderella.
After the fashion show, they had a dance party. Kara mostly danced with her friend Peyton.

They also had a little tea party with apple juice and cupcakes. Kara loved being complimented on her table manners. Afterward, I had to make her go watch Chai open presents, because she wanted to clean up the table after the tea party.
more dancing at the end of the party.
