London 2019

We booked a transatlantic cruise last September, and flew to London with the girls as the cruise would be leaving from Dover. We flew out of Chicago, and it actually wasn't a bad flight. Most of us were able to get some sleep, and we were only a little grumpy upon landing. Everyone got changed and freshened up, and we headed out to do some sightseeing. The girls missed more than a week of school for this trip, but we got a really great deal, and figured so early in the school year, they'd be able to catch up without too much trouble.
They really seemed to enjoy the city energy and all the hustle and bustle.

We rode the hop on hop off bus tour around so we could see as many things as possible. Buckingham Palace was one of the first stops.

This was when we overheard a little girl say to her father, "Daddy, if you give me gummy bears, I will go into the park". We all laughed about it and still quote her all the time. She doesn't even know she's famous in our household. I also sat in bird poo on a bench while eating my ice cream.
Back on the bus!

A lot of our pictures are from the bus, but we also did a fair amount of walking around as well. As you can see it was a gorgeous day for sightseeing.

Big Ben was covered in scaffolding, but I took lots of pictures of it anyway. The girls weren't too impressed.

On the London Eye. The boxes were a lot larger than I thought they'd be, plenty of room to spread out in there.

Nice view, filthy water.

I bought a souvenir book with the photos they take of you, but I'm not sure where I put that..

Ben was most excited to see Tower Bridge.
And right as we were getting to it, I realized the girls had all fallen asleep.
Ben and I were able to enjoy it though!

That was such a fun and exhausting day! I'd go again in a heartbeat.
