New Year's Eve

This year we talked about having a new year's eve party. But Kara and Evie both started throwing up, and Ben and I were both sleep deprived, so we decided to just keep it to ourselves this year. We all watched a movie together, and then played some wii, and finished up the night with board games. Last year it went by so fast, but this year we kept looking at the clock and trying to think of more things to do. I was tempted just to tell the kids it was midnight, and go to bed, but I knew Ben would never go for that.

The girls still insisted on getting dressed up a little for the holiday. Kiersten got to have her daddy daughter date that afternoon. I know they went out for ice cream, but I can't remember what else they did.

Kara wore her favorite dress. she calls it her "always dress". because she always wears it as soon as it gets ironed and put back in her closet.

I made a few snacks this year, but not as much as usual. Kara and Kiersten kept changning into different pary hats all evening.

Evie couldn't really blow the party horns, but she did a pretty amazing job of mimicking the tone.

We made it to midnight, and the girls loved setting off a few little popper fireworks.

Happy New Year!

in with the new.

I really missed my family in utah on new year's eve. For some reason, I just really missed them all this year, and couldn't help wondering when I'll be spending a holiday with them again. I know, pity party, but if you know my family, you'll understand why I miss them so much. We had a fun new year's with the girls, despite my missing being in Utah. Here are a few pictures of the festivities. we had a few confetti poppers and things, but since it was pretty cold out, we set them off in the kitchen. Ben was nice enough to clean up the mess, but I did find a few of the caps in the livingroom the next day. Those things really flew!

Kara wanted her picture taken with the mess, silly girl.

Kiersten got to drink out of the glass with no straw too this time. She talked about it all night, how she did such a good job.

toasting the new year. sorry about the mess in the background, we were packing away Christmas decor earlier in the day.

We spent a good amount of the evening playing wii party, which is Kara's new favorite thing to do. Even Kiersten could play some of the games. But at midnight, we went downstairs for the countdown, and to play some party games Kara planned for us. She made us do a freeze dance, and the limbo, and karate. I don't know why karate is a party game, but I guess it is, so we had a competition. I was out in the first round. I think Kiersten won the championship. Ben and Kara were better at limbo than Kiersten and me. Evie was already in bed, and had to miss Kara's party.

Kara is back in school this week. She wanted me to take a picture of this snowman she made today. She was the class helper today, and also took her birthday party invitations, so she was pretty happy to be the center of attention so much at school in one day.

I got this popcorn popper from Vicky for Christmas. We have never had one since we've been married. The girls didn't know there was any way to make it, other than in the microwave. So they have thought this is pretty cool. We've already used it 8 or 9 times. I think I took this picture the first time we used it. Don't they look impressed?

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve at Troy and Shelly's house in Eagle Mountain. It was really fun to hang out with everyone. I really like this picture of Ben and Kiersten. The guys watching sports together. Josh, Dad, Kiersten, Ben, and maybe you can see Zac sitting on the floor.
Andrew, Jayden and Lathan playing their video games. They were really upset when Shelly took them away and said they had to do somthing else the rest of the night.
Addyson, Karalee, and Afton playing together. I have only a few pics of Kara because I barely saw her all night. She loved playing with Addy and Laynee, and threw a tantrum when it was time to leave because she wanted to have a sleep over.
Cash, Linkin, and Kiersten all wanted to play with bouncy balls, but even though there were more than enough for all of them, they still kept fighting over them.
I was surprised to walk into the kitchen to see Afton eating this huge jelly filled, frosted donut, and he even put cherry chocolates on top. He is just the cutest, sweetest kid.
more guy bonding time. Josh, Clint, and Ben STILL watching football instead of playing games with the rest of us. I guess some of the games would have been chaos with any more people playing, so it's okay.
waiting for the ball to drop. you can tell some people were getting really tired. Mom, Dad, and Chris on the couch, and Angie holding Kyrie in the chair.
2 of my favorite nieces, Makayla and Laynee.
I just adore my cute little niece, Rylynn. She is just the daintiest little thing. Kiersten did start to get a little jealous of her though, because I was holding her so much.
Happy 2010! It's fun to think what will happen this coming year. I hope it will be a fun filled and exciting year for all of us.
