I spent most of Valentine's day cleaning our rental home in spanaway. The tenants didn't clean at all when they left, and left some damage, so I've been busy down there every day since they moved out. After working hard down there, I picked the girls up from school. They were super excited to tell me all about their party at school. When we pulled into the garage, daddy was standing in there with 3 balloons waiting for us. That really added to the girls' excitement once they spotted him. He also had some stuff for the girls that he ordered online. Kiersten got a hoodie, Kara got 2 night gowns, and Evie got a special Mickey mouse.
The girls were really happy with their heart shaped boxes of chocolates, and valentine's themed pillows and blankets.
We took a video of Evie getting her Mickey out of the box. She was so cute and happy. I just wish I could have gotten her to smile for a picture with him afterward!
Here they are with their balloons from daddy. Every time I snapped a picture, someone pulled down on their ballon and got blocked out. This was the best one I ended up with.
Of course we had to get a heart pizza, as we always do. This one was barely shaped like a heart. Someone really didn't feel like going to a lot of trouble with it.
I already got my gift from Ben last week. the first day we were down in spanaway to do a walkthrough with our tenant, Ben surprised me on the way home by stopping at the jewelry store. I got to pick out some fun new earings. I chose a set of diamond hoops, and I am thrilled with them! Ben kept saying he was looking for a starbucks to get wifi on my kindle. I was totally annoyed, and kept saying, "let's just go home and use the internet". Then he seemed to be pulling into costco, and I reminded him we canceled our membership there. He said he thought there was a starbucks around there. As we pulled up to the jewelry store, I said, "there's no starbucks in there". he just laughed and told me why we were there. I felt pretty silly for being so annoyed with him, and being so oblivious.
Kara finally talked us into letting her take dance lessons again. She is taking a "kid's pop" class, and thought it was really cool that there are 3 boys in her class. It was supposed to start January 12, but the first week was postponed because the teacher had a conflict, and last week was canceled for snow, so thursday was the first class. 
Kiersten had to go an entire month with no accidents to be able to take a dance class. She was successful for the entire month of December (and most of November). She is so elated to be a ballerina. She is taking the "ballerina enchantment" class. There are only 4 girls in her class. She was so proud to show me all the things she learned in her first class. Her class is right before Kara's, so that part is pretty convenient.
Most of the pictures i took ended up like this. Kara would wait to do her pose right as I took the picture, and kept blocking poor Kiersten. She was pretty worried about it.
I finally got Kara to do an arms down pose.
Ben ordered Evie a plush Mickey and Pluto to complete her collection of clubhouse buddies. They arrived this week, and I cut the tape off the box so she could open it. As soon as she saw pluto, she started saying, "hot gog! hot gog!" and clapping her hands and dancing around. She was so excited, and once I got the mickey out of the package, she squealed even more happily and gave him hugs and kisses. Then she ran in my room and started begging to watch, "cubhow". (mickey mouse clubhouse). 
The girls have been really excited about Disney on Ice. When we got home from school they were super happy to get changed into their dressy clothes, and we didn't have any problem getting them to eat their dinner.
Ben got them each a souvenir. Kiersten picked out this hat. The back has a yarn braid attatched. She didn't end up wearing it too much, because she was proud to show off her hairbow. When we were in line for the bathroom, the lady in front of me gasped, and said, "I didn't see those! where'd you get that bow?". She was visibly disappointed when I said I had made it. I took that as a compliment. I had made a bunch of extra ones, and Ben was saying I should bring them to sell or hand out. I guess I should have listened. 
Kara's sno-cone came in a Jesse mug, and she also got cotton candy that came with an alien hat. 
candy face Evie pie! She was pretty excited to be there, and was way cute when she saw the characters. She was getting antsy by intermission, and then she slept through most of the second half. When she saw the pictures as I was loading them on the computer, she started giggling and clapping her hands.
The toy stroy theme was pretty cute, though there weren't as many different characters to see as there have been in the past years.
Kara didn't like the part with Zurg. She told me she hates bad guys.
Luckily Buzz Lightyear came to save the day. This has to be the part of the show that got the MOST applause. 
Dancing Barbies. I thought thier role in the show was too long (and the green army men too) But the girls seemed to really like it.
Kara and Keirsten both said their favorite part was when Ken and Barbie met and fell in love. 
By the end, the girls were up and dancing to every song. A lot of people were watching them and laughing. I don't think it was bothering anyone. (I hope not, anyway). 
Since we went to Disney on ice last year, we were able to go again this year for half price. Here are some pictures we got of the show. The girls absolutely loved it again. It's all they've been talking about for the past week. Kiersten was so excited to dress up, and had her outfit picked out a few days early. And Kara has been asking every day, how many days til we get to go to disney on ice.

Evie watched the entire 2 hour show. She didn't make a peep. I was worried, because it was really loud and bright, but it didn't bother her one bit. She even fell asleep toward the end, which was the loudest part. We went to the movies today, and she was perfectly behaved again. I guess I just need to get her out of the house more when she's being grumpy.
Ben's favorite was Jack, the pumpkin king. He probably was the best skater we saw. Kiersten was afraid during the halloween part of the show.

the toys from toy story got the biggest applause, and they were only on at the very end. but people were freaking out when they came out. Kara got pretty excited about buzz lightyear.

Everyone had fun, and I'm glad we went. If they come back next year, I'm sure we'll go again. I never used to believe it when people said they'd rather see their kids have fun than do something they think is fun. But it's totally true. Seeing your kids so happy and excited is way more fun than doing anything else I can think of. After the show, we picked up Ben's mom from the airport, and we had a pretty fun day with her today, going out to eat, shopping, and seeing the movie "megamind". but I am super tired now, and it's not even 6:00 yet. Hopefully the girls will go to bed early so we can have another fun filled day with Grandma tomorrow.
Yesterday was a pretty fun and busy day for us. In the morning, Kara had her first dentist appt. It went very well. She loved all the attention she was getting, and she had no cavities. I took the girls to lunch at McDonald's because we have a whole bunch of coupons for free items there that will be expiring soon. I let them play for a long time so they would get tired and take naps. After nap time, we drove up to meet Ben at work in Tukwila. We went to dinner at spaghetti factory with Kelly and her hubby and baby. After dinner, we headed down to Kent to take the girls to Disney on Ice. It was the worlds of fantasy themed one. It was really fun. I thought they would like it, but I didn't know how much they would love it. Here they are waiting for the show to begin.
I was worried that Kiersten might act the way she does at the movies, but she loved every second. She kept saying, "wow!" and waving to the characters and saying hi. One of the highlights for me was when Donald duck came skating out, and she excitedly said, "Donny!" and pointed out at him. She was really cute clapping and watching the entire 2 hour show.
Ben bought this crown for Kara. He got Kiersten an Ariel necklace.

This Tinkerbelle hat came with some cotton candy Ben got the girls. Now Kara has something to wear to crazy hat day at school next week. I've been wondering what I would send for her. None of her hats are very crazy.
Lightning McQeen and Mater both got lots of applause when they came driving out.

I thought they would be just skating around, but there were lots of great lifts, jumps, and spins. It was very impressive. This is Ariel and Eric.
